In this second stage we leave Kerala to enter the fabulous, mysterious and ancient region of Tamil Nadu. It is the southernmost in the country and we are going to go to the south of the south, that is to the point of India, where 3 seas meet: more than Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. The city that awaits us is Kanyakumari.

We leave at 08.00 in the morning of Varkala, we cross the link road and return to the highway to give it a little more cane. Although the average speed is quite poor the truth, being the second day we prefer to go "piano piano" and forget the clock.

We make the breakfast stop in Kovalam, another beach area with enough accommodation. We take a volt over there with the bike and that's fine, but we choose Varkala to spend some day. So with the bellies half full (Lety finally has the pleasure of eating some fishfingers ... for breakfast!) We continue along the road that runs along the coast to the Muslim town of Vizhinjam, very photogenic!

We continue along quite busy roads. We leave the capital of Kerala (Trivandrum) on our left, its international airport on our right, always with the compass placed to the south. We pass many towns, traffic, roads with public address for kilometers and kilometers where some Indian radio sounds ...

As we approach Kanyakumari we see how the landscape changes, palm trees and rice fields surround us, with the mountains in the background. After 6 hours on the back of our Gambita we arrive at the destination. We look for decent accommodation and take a nap, which we have earned!

Kanyakumari is a small coastal town, not very large, with the appeal of being the tip of India. In itself it does not have much, a temple dedicated to the goddess of the sea (the Bagavathi Amman Temple) and some memorial. Just in front of its coast there are a couple of islets with a temple and a large statue, both dedicated to two famous people from this area of the country.

Well, we will have to see what is going on there, right? We get off the jetty and catch the ferry to make the turn visit. There is not much to tell, really. We were surprised by a room for those who want to meditate, with an atmosphere of total tranquility!

Of course, the sunrises from here are very cool, watching the sun rise since we do not know which of the three seas, with the islets in front ... an event! And not only for us!

USEFUL INFO

Kanyakumari:We stayed in a hotel right in front of the main temple. In this street there are several accommodations with different prices. We pay 450 INR. The visit to the islands is no big deal, although either you do this or do nothing here ... You catch a ferry for INR 34 that leaves you at the first, you pay INR 20 for the entrance to the temple. Then the ferry takes you to the other island, the giant statue. And the next stop is back to the mainland. The last one leaves at 16.00.

Travel
The roads to get here are quite busy. Many towns and cities are crossed that reduce speed. We did a total of 160 km in 6 hours, stopping.
