We spent the last nights of our stay in Varanasi at the Assi Guesthouse, in the Assi Ghat. It is run by a lovely family, always attentive to everything you need and very friendly. We get a very nice memory of them.
The guesthouse has several floors and few rooms. There are air-conditioned (where we stay) and cooler, a very useful invention that cools the room quite well. All with their private bathroom. Also, in the room we had TV and wifi, so we couldn't get bored!
On the terrace they have a little restaurant where we ate and had breakfast sometime, taking energy! It is very close to the Assi Ghat, in a quiet alley but 5 minutes from the Ghat.
It is certainly a recommended place, especially for the good people you will meet there.
Update: we are getting negative comments about the treatment of the staff of this hostel ... we had no problem with them, vice versa, as we told in the post we are very comfortable. But we couldn't not share this update!
