Girona is not only a beautiful city full of surprises, but it is also surrounded by great places, perfect to make some wonderful getaway, both for beach lovers and those who prefer the mountain. 1. Visit the beautiful Girona Cathedral, which is located in the highest point of the city. As a curiosity to tell you that it has the widest domed Gothic nave in the world. Admission is € 7 and includes audio guide (free admission for children).

3. One of the things you have to do in Girona is to kiss the Ass of the Lioness. Que? Already, we imagine your confusion but it is a tradition: everyone who wants to return to Girona, must have kissed the back of the statue of the lioness in the Plaza de San Felix.
4. Did you know that in Girona you can visit the smallest square in Europe? We talk about the Plaça dels Raïms.
5. Give yourself a walk on the city walls,There are different sections and several access sites. From the viewpoints posted on the towers the views of the historic center are beautiful ... without a doubt it is one of the best things to see and do in Girona!
6. Try one of the best ice cream in Spain... obviously we talk about those of Rocambolesc, the ice cream shop of Jordi Roca, a genius of pastry. And yes, for us this is one of the best things to do in Girona :-p
7. And how not, if you are good food (and you do not mind paying a generous sum of money) you have to try to book in the Can Roca, one of the best restaurants in the world. Of course, do it with a lot of advance time, as you can imagine, it is very quoted. The tasting menu costs about € 180-205 (without pairing, € 70-100 more with pairing).
8. If the budget does not allow it, at least take something in one of the premises of the Independence SquareShe is very pretty and always has an atmosphere.
9. And obviously try the local cuisine, with dishes such as monkfish and red shrimp suquet or sweet sausage with apple.
10. The Oñar River crosses Girona and offers a magnificent picture, with colored facades on both sides. To enjoy it, you have to cross the curiousPont de les Peixateries Vells, also known as "Pont Eiffel" ... yes, it was built by Gustave Eiffel!
11. Another bridge you have to know is Stone pont, the only stone in the city.
12. Get lost in the narrow streets of El Call, the old Jewish ghetto of the city, which will transport you to medieval times. It is very cool and has a strong personality.

14. Another very interesting museum is the Cinema Museum, where you can dive into the history of the seventh art. Admission is € 6
15. If you go with your partner, go to one of the most romantic corners of all Spain: Stairs of the church of Sant Martí Sacosta.
16. The houses that rise on the banks of the Oñar are very beautiful, but there is only one that can be visited: Masó House, which was the residence of architect Rafael Masó and preserves the rooms, furniture and decoration of the beginning of the nine hundred. Admission is € 6.
17. Approach the Ramblas area and stroll between shops and street musicians. They are not like those of Barcelona but hey, they are not bad (and with much less people!)
18. If you have time you can do some excursion, a cultural one can be to go to Figueres and visit the Dalí Museum.
19. Or approach someone charming town how Besalú or Empúries where you can walk among Greco-Roman ruins.
