Girona is not only a beautiful city full of surprises, but it is also surrounded by great places, perfect to make some wonderful getaway, both for beach lovers and those who prefer the mountain. If you have a few days and do not know where to go, this Catalan city is an ideal option. In this post we will tell you 20 things to see and do in Girona.

8. If the budget does not allow it, at least take something in one of the premises of the Independence SquareShe is very pretty and always has an atmosphere.

9. And obviously try the local cuisine, with dishes such as monkfish and red shrimp suquet or sweet sausage with apple.

10. The Oñar River crosses Girona and offers a magnificent picture, with colored facades on both sides. To enjoy it, you have to cross the curiousPont de les Peixateries Vells, also known as "Pont Eiffel" ... yes, it was built by Gustave Eiffel!

16. The houses that rise on the banks of the Oñar are very beautiful, but there is only one that can be visited: Masó House, which was the residence of architect Rafael Masó and preserves the rooms, furniture and decoration of the beginning of the nine hundred. Admission is € 6.

17. Approach the Ramblas area and stroll between shops and street musicians. They are not like those of Barcelona but hey, they are not bad (and with much less people!)
