No one in their right mind chooses spend 1 day in New York: 24 hours are very few to enjoy all the things that the most incredible city in the world offers. But you may have a stopover in New York, or you may be here in passing ... Who knows? So if you only have 1 day in New York, plant your eyes well on the screen, that we will tell you the ideal itinerary to get the most out of New York in 1 day.

advice: If you spend the night in New York, it is worth spending a little more money and staying in Manhattan. Two good options where to sleep cheap in New York are Pod 39 and Pod 51. We tell you more options in our cheap accommodation article in New York.

Buy a coffee and a cream cheese bagel in one of the many street carts you'll see everywhere and go to breakfast in front of the Flatiron Building, one of the most beautiful buildings in New York. In front of it there is a small square where the town hall makes available tables and chairs for free use (you will also see them in other places in New York).

After charging you, go walking towards Washington Square Park, the heart of Greenwich village, one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city, with its picturesque streets and brick houses (brownstones). It is undoubtedly the place preferred by New York pets to meet their friends. We tell you everything you can see and do in West Village and Greenwich Village.

From here take a bus or walk to Chelsea and at Meatpacking District, which formerly housed a good handful of slaughterhouses and meat processing factories (hence the name) and which today is one of the coolest districts of the Big Apple. The sad buildings have been converted into art galleries (and hyper-expensive lofts) and one of them in a very photogenic market: the Chelsea Market. Here we tell you more.

Don't waste much time and head towards the beginning of the Highline, an elevated urban park that extends just over 2 km along the platforms of an old tram line. More than a park is a whole set of monuments and incredible views of Manhattan ... It takes about 40 minutes to go through it and you will finish in the newly opened neighborhood of Hudson Yards, where the curious monument known as The Vessel stands. You will have the option of climbing its multiple stairs, so get your tickets online in advance (they are free), otherwise, follow the itinerary we propose for the afternoon ...

The next step is to take a bus / subway until Columbus Circle… And since we assume that the guts are already screaming at you to feed them, the first thing you have to do is enter the Wholefoods It is located in the Time Warner Center Mall and fill a box with the richest (and healthiest) recipes you see. Remember that these boxes of buffet food cost $ 9 per pound, so keep an eye out if you don't want to spend a pasture.

Once with the package of happiness in your hand, you will have to pick up your bike (you are a smart traveler so you will have bought a 2 or 3 hour bike voucher here, which costs much less than in the same store) and ... you are going to pedal for him Central park, the most famous park in the world! Here we tell you everything to see and do in Central Park, although with 2 hours you have time to explore the whole park at a good pace and improvise a picnic.

After returning the bike you can take the A-C subway line and go to one of our favorite places in New York: DUMBO. It is a neighborhood of Brooklyn from where you will have the best panoramic view of the mythical brooklyn bridges and of Manhattan. Here we tell you 10 things to see and do in DUMBO. Calculate a visit time here. Ideally, wait for the sunset to enjoy one of the best postcards in the city * _ * you will not regret it.

If you still have energy, we propose you a plan: go up to the most beautiful viewpoint in New York: Top of the Rock. There is no better place to say goodbye to this fleeting encounter! Here we give you all the information about the visit to the Top of the Rock. Although if you do not want to spend the entrance fee, you can always play the card of a rooftop bar. You will not be so tall, but it is a good alternative to contemplate New York from the heights (and with a copichuela in your hand). Here we tell you the best rooftop bars in New York, although we anticipate that our favorites are the230th Fifth, the Rooftop 93 and that ofPod 39.

To dine for a little money and in a privileged place, go to the shopping cart The Halal Guys (It is in the 6th with the 53th) and catch a plate of your wonderful rice with meat to zamp it in Bryant park. You will find a haven of peace in the noise of the city that never sleeps, wrapped in its skyscrapers and will be the finishing touch to a tiring but wonderful day.

Here we leave you a map with the proposed itinerary to spend a single day in New York:

What did you think of this One-day itinerary in New York? We know that it is very tight and that you will have to take hours almost where there are none, but if you manage to do it, you will be able to see the best things in New York in a few hours.
