We are already in China !!! We wanted to step on the yellow giant! The first mandatory stop from Hong Kong is the city of Shenzen. Here, apart from sealing the visa, eat the first dumpling made in China and find a night bus to our next destination, we have done little.

But little is enough to see that this city does not have much to envy its neighbor Hong Kong: go skyscrapers !!! And guys, if you want to forget the crisis here you can do it: open a neon business and you will get well!

We got on the Yangshuo direction bus and almost without noticing the 10 hours pass and the shouts of the driver wake us up warning us that we have to get off. What a sweet start to the day! 05.30 am, at a gas station, in China, without a map, or Lonely Planet. BEEP! Error! Being in China without a map is uglier than hitting a father. Take note!

But with some luck and a survival instinct and guidance never experienced before we arrived at the hotel and planned a bit the next few days. We want to do two things in Yangshuo: boat tour on the famous Li River and a bike ride between rice fields, rivers, caves and villages.

The landscapes of this part of China are spectacular: thousands and thousands of karst mountains They rise from the earth and create an unreal atmosphere. And the rivers that pass between them have a magical charm that both on the boat and on bike have made us take thousands of photos! We just needed to see Goku flying over his magic cloud (Xavi and Txell already told us).

Yangshuo is a Chinese people, what a city for us! Of course, the center can be visited in an hour where you will spend time browsing souvenirs, taking pictures of cute animals, and once again you will be surprised by the great panorama. China promises!!!

Transportation How to get to Yangshuo?

Passed the passport controls of the border between Hong Kong and Shenzen there is an area with a train station, buses and shops. There we hired an agency on night bus Direct to Yangshuo. It leaves at 18.30 and arrives around 05.30am (go on to Guilin). It cost 230 Yuan each ticket. In Yangshuo there is no train station, but there are agencies where you can book train tickets (the commission is about 4 euros).

Accommodation Where to sleep in Yangshuo?

We booked through booking at the hotel West lily. Highly recommended. It is a good hotel at hostel price. It is not in the tourist area, which we did not care because at night it is very quiet. The owner speaks perfect English. It cost 70 Yanues the double room, with private bathroom, a / c, wifi. There is no elevator.

Where to eat in Yangshuo?

We found by chance the River View Hotel, a great place! It is at the end of the tourist street (on the left). As the name says facing the river. It has a wide menu, and with affordable prices. The large bottle of beer costs 8 yuan. The beer duck is delicious! By the way, the portions are huge in China! MMM

Activities What to do in Yangshuo?

- Boat tour: we hired it directly at the hotel, it cost 100 yuan per person: it includes a minivan to the port of departure and an hour and a half (45min round trip / 45min round trip) by boat through a very beautiful area (we were 4 in the boat) .

- Bike: the rent cost us 10 yuan for each bike.
