New Zealand is one of these countries that has been in our heads for quite some time ... We don't know if we will visit it soon (we cross our fingers!) Or if we will never step on the ground on the other side of the world (literally). But prevention is better than cure so we have prepared a list of “the best of” or if you prefer, of “things we want to do and see in New Zealand”(At least) once in a lifetime.

- Explore the Bay of island and bathe in one of its best beaches.

- Breathe the backpacker environment into Paihia.

- Go to Cabo Reinga.

- Drive on the Ninety Miles Beach.

- Pass the Christmas at the beach in the heat and with Santa Claus hat.

- Visit the cave of Waitomo and meet my favorite animal of the world world.

- Sand-bording in the dunes of Te Paki.

- Bathe in the turquoise waters of lake tekapo (OK, just put my feet, I am very cold) and take thousands of photos with Mount Cook in the background.

- Drive towards mount cook and get as close as possible (we leave the summit to men of good will).

- Walk around Karamea.

- Visit all public libraries of the country to use the free wifi, without remorse.

- Spend a few bohemian days in Raglan.

- Go to the Paparoa National Park and see the Pancake rocks.

- Explore the peninsula of Coromandel.

- Marvel at the wild nature of Abel Tasman Park.

- Make friends with sea lions sunbathing in Golden bay.

- See them Franz Joseph and Fox glaciers. And if it is possible to bite the blue part of the ice!

- Drive on the road from Greymouth to WanakaThey say the landscapes are beautiful.

- Relax a few days in the town of Wanaka.

- Spend a few days in the world capital of adventure sports: Queenstown, and while the backpacks of the world are parachuted, bungee jumping or whatever, have a picnic at the lake forks with the town's retirees.

- Go to Milford sound and explore the whole area.

- Hit us a party in Dunedin, the university city of NZ.

- Go to the Matheson Lake and have Mount Cook and Mount Tasman in the background.

- Eat, caress and talk with 3 different kiwis (hoping to choose the kiwi just in the right context).

- See them southern hemisphere stars (If for some reason a UFO has to appear, please, I don't want to see you, wait for me to fall asleep and see you alone Rober. Don't take it with you that I need to drive the van).

- Crossing international timeline.

- Stick a good bath in the Blue pool.

- Even if they don't eat, go to the Nugget point, where some rocks (supposedly similar to nuggets) are seen in the sea. They say it's very cool. But we'll take some nuggets from mc donald, just in case.

- Spend a few days in Christchurch.

- Relax in Akaroa, a coastal town near Christchurch where you can see dolphins.

- Get drunk with beer Tui or with him Napier wine (and better if only with a glass seen the prices of alcohol in NZ!)

- See the Cathedral Cove.

- Make a free spa session at the hot water beach.

- Buy one caravan and live like hippies for a season.

- Suffer the smell of sulfur / rotten egg in Rotorua (although happy to be in one of the most incredible geothermal parks in the world).

- Get lost for Auckland.

- Take Photos until our fingers hurt.

- Browse in the Taupo Lake, the largest in the country.

- See them Huka falls.

- Learn more about maori culture.

- Fatten a couple of kilos eating fish & chips.

- Do hitch-hiking or pick someone who does.

- See the southern aurora (It's hard to know, but let me dream!).

- Dance and sing the Haka like an All Black more.

- Stroll through the vineyards of the area of Marlborough.

- Cross in Ferry from the North Island to the South Island (Of course, we are not going to do it swimming).

- Visit the quiet capital of the country: Wellington.

- Drive by The catlins (South Scenic Route) and marvel at the landscapes and the incredible fauna of the place: seals, penguins and sea lions.

- Spend a few days in Napier.

- See them Moeraki builders.

- Be in a sheep jam (They say there are 10 for each inhabitant!).

- Survive a trekking through the Tongariro National Park through volcanoes and spectacular landscapes ... also if you are fans of the Lord of the Rings you will love: one of the mountains of the park is Mordor!

- Feel a hobbit in Hobbiton (Of course our height helps) although we think we will not get to go (it costs $ 75 !!)

- Take a boat trip to see the whales in Kaikoura.

- Tan on the beautiful beach of Wihitianga.

- Improve the English. Yes, of course!

- Try don't spend our budget 6 months of Asia.

Surely there is much more to do ... but better to see it there directly right? And you? You have something else what to see and do in New Zealand worthwhile?
