We could not release the section without revealing the recipe of one of our favorite Asian dishes: dumplings! There are different ways to cook them: grilled, cooked or steamed. We prefer steamers ... so here goes the recipe of grandparents Lety & Rober
INGREDIENTS for 10-15 dumplings
Mass:
- 100 gr of flour
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon oil (sunflower better)
- Boiling water (as necessary)
(For the lazy, or for the lucky ones with Chinese supermarket next door, there are already made dough disks, about 30 cost around € 2)
Filling:
- Minced meat (we use the mixed pork / veal but you can use whatever you want)
- 1 scallion
- 1 piece of fresh ginger
- 1 clove garlic
- Soy sauce
Sauce
- Soy sauce
- Honey
Are you ready? Well, get to work!
STEP 1: THE MASS
If you dare to prepare the dough you know that the preparation is very simple: mix all the ingredients and knead, knead, knead. Let rest about 10 minutes before stretching and form circles with a glass.
STEP 2: THE FILLING
Crush garlic and ginger and combine them with scallions cut into small pieces and minced meat. Knead everything with your little hands of gold and squirt soy sauce. Let rest an hour so that the flavors blend well!
STEP 3: THE BIRTH OF DUMPLINGS
Take a circle of dough and put in its center a teaspoon of filling, close it as if it were a tortellino (how beautiful is the word tortellino!). Repeat the process until you have your dumplings ready ... although raw hehe
STEP 4: THE MATURITY OF DUMPLINGS
Put a leaf of lettuce on the base of the bamboo basket and place the dumplings on it. Cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
Truquito: if you do not have a bamboo basket, there is a rustic way of steaming: place a glass in a casserole with water and a plate with the dumplings on top of it ... clearly the dish has to be above the water level hehe, I do not drown the dumplings! Cover the casserole and put it on the fire.
STEP 5: THE DEATH OF DUMPLINGS AND THE BIRTH OF YOUR ADDICTION
Take them out and eat them, what are you waiting for? Ah! buongustaio… the sauce! Well, you just have to mix a teaspoon of honey with soy and ... voila! What hunger has entered me ...
BON APPETIT!
