Mui Ne is a fishing village of Vietnam where we have spent the next two nights of our trip. Read like this it seems a quiet place, with local people, a relaxed atmosphere ... nothing is further from reality, and more after our experience, which we will later tell. On one side of the town and for several kilometers of coastline a infinity of super luxury resort, something we had never seen so far during our trip, side by side, with hardly any space to access the beach. And the most curious thing is that their posters, such as those of stores, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. They were written in Vietnamese and in ... Russian! It is a kind of Mallorca for the Germans, but in Vietnam and for the Russians.

On the way to town by the seafront at night they put fish restaurants Where to have dinner watching a beautiful sunset. Among the fish they offer, well, of all kinds, blankets, sharks, brunettes, frogs, blue fish, turtles, shellfish of all types ... even a snake! What a scare the Lety stuck ... Here we also tested the Vietnamese-style coffee, which consists of placing a metal bucket containing the coffee on top of the glass, which drop by drop is filtered and falling into the glass.

But if something is famous this town is to own in its surroundings two dune areas, red and white. To make the visit we rent a motorcycle in the same Guesthouse and there we go. The day is very hot and sometimes we feel like very Bedouins walking through the burning sand. Saving the distances, the dunes are spectacular (for people who have never been in a desert, not counting the one in Almeria of course 😉).

We have already talked about the great community of Russians, but there is another group of people who spend several days here practicing their favorite sport, the Kite Surf. After traveling a considerable distance along the road parallel to the coast, we found an access to the beach in an alley that gives an agency that offers courses to learn how to handle the kite above the board. It is not for us, that we just want to take some pictures without more. So we spent about 15 minutes sitting in one of the typical round boats of this area of the country, observing and photographing the surfers. When we return to the alley we find our helmets lying on the ground ... how strange ... we approach the motorcycle but ... Lety ... this is not our motorcycle! And where is? They stole our motorcycle! And we have also left our helmets so that everyone who sees us will return to the Guesthouse.

It cost us a great dislike, and the family that rented the bike even more. We approached the police to make the complaint and since the theft of motorcycles is the order of the day, there is not much probability that it appears. The morning before we left we met with the whole family and after a while talking about what had happened we concluded in paying a small sum so that they could invest in a second-hand motorcycle than to rent.

USEFUL INFO

Transport. How to get to Mui Ne?

From Ho Chi Minh it cost us $ 5 in one of the thousands of agencies near the alley of the little hotels. Maybe it can be removed unless we are in a bad time. It takes about 5 hours to leave on the road of the hotels.

The motorcycle that was stolen was a manual, which cost us $ 6 a day. We pay them $ 100 for the theft.

Accommodation. Where to sleep in Mui Ne?

At Nat Thi, for $ 10 a very complete room. It is at km 14. Luck that the owner of the motorcycle was good people and it was he who convinced the wife of the Guesthouse to return our passports after what happened.

Visit to the dunes of Mui Ne

The red dunes are 4 km away, next to the same road. Continuing for about 20 km are the white dunes, larger, where you can rent a quad for $ 10 for 20 minutes to shop around. We did not.

Fish restaurants

The portions are very scarce, we think it is better to negotiate for some fresh fish by weight before sitting down and not asking for anything from the menu.
