Accommodation in Castro: Cabañas Alcamar
Located in the area of Llicaldad 4 kilometers from Castro, in Chiloé and facing the sea, we find the Cabañas Alcamar, a place where nothing else arrives, we recognize that it is an ideal place, both for its location and its surroundings, creating an ideal environment for rest and relaxation.
According to Nelda's own words, the owner, if the main objective is to offer the traveler quality accommodation, but at the same time close and that remains forever in the memory along with the visit to Chiloé.
After our experience during 5 days staying in the cabin "La Vega", we have to say that we have not only been able to verify the truthfulness of these words, but that these have been far exceeded.

Location of Alcamar Cabins
To get to Cabañas Alcamar you must leave Castro and take direction to Quellón. You will pass by the Nercón Bridge, and then find the sign that indicates the location of the Nercón Church. You must still follow a section after which you will find, on kilometer 7, the Tourist Center of Llicaldad. From here you have to follow 200 meters and you will find on the left, on the same side as the sea, the cartel that indicates access to the cabins.

Something to keep in mind is that at night there is practically no lighting, so it is convenient to have the exact point marked on the GPS, either from the car or mobile, so as not to have to go around the area in search of the entrance .

Cabañas Alcamar has 5 cabins, typical of Chilota architecture, surrounded by an incredible landscape, which make the environment another reason to stay here during your stay in Castro. With capacity for 4, 6 and 8 people, each of them has wood heating, television, Wi-Fi connection, kitchen, private bathroom and terrace with sea views, something that without a doubt, is a real luxury in a place like this .

La Huerta Cabin
With capacity for 4 people this cabin has a living room, dining room and kitchen as well as large windows with incredible sea views.
It also has a fully equipped kitchen with appliances such as microwave, refrigerator, toaster, kettle ... and utensils necessary for 4 guests.
In the living room you have a wood stove, which every day the staff is responsible for replenishing and leaving ready only to light.

On the upper floor we find a room with a double bed, with a large window with incredible sea views and a private bathroom. In addition the cabin has another bed, in the living room, located under the stairs.
Also in the Cabaña La Huerta you will find television, wifi, free parking next to the cabin and a terrace through which you can directly access a garden with products from the garden.
River Cabin
With capacity for 8 people, this cabin has a living room, located on the ground floor, with stunning sea views, fully equipped kitchen and dining room.
It has 4 bedrooms, two of them with double beds and two on the second floor overlooking the sea, where we can find two fully equipped and equipped bathrooms, on each floor.

Like the rest of the cabins, it also has television, Wi-Fi signal, terrace with sea views and free parking by the cabin.
Cabaña Del Cerro
With capacity for 5 people, this cabin is a single floor where we find a living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen, as well as a bathroom.
In the living room and the room has large windows overlooking the sea and, like the rest of the cabins, there is a wood-burning stove in the living room with which to heat the entire cabin.

It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, with a large window overlooking the sea and another in which two single beds are located. Also in the living room there is a couch on which a fifth guest can sleep.
As in the other cabins, Cabaña Del Cerro has satellite television, a large terrace overlooking the sea, free parking by the cabin and Wi-Fi signal included in the price of accommodation.
Cabaña Del Mar
With capacity for 6 people, this one-story cabin is located on the seafront and has large windows from which to enjoy incredible views of the sea, sheltered by the wood stove.
It also has a fully equipped kitchen and a large bathroom with all accessories and needs for 6 guests.
Cabin of the Sea
This cabin has two rooms, one of them with a double bed and sea views and a second one in which we find 3 single beds. Also in the living room we have a couch in which a sixth person sleep.
The cabin has a television, a large terrace overlooking the sea, parking by the cabin and free Wi-Fi signal.
La Vega cabin
With capacity for 8 people, Cabaña La Vega is the cabin in which we stayed the 4 nights we stayed in Castro.

On the ground floor we find a fully equipped kitchen, in which we have a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, toaster, oven and different kitchen utensils, enough for more than 8 guests.
On this floor we also have a large bathroom, fully equipped and a double bedroom, with a large window, overlooking the sea, in which we can assure you every morning is a luxury to wake up, just like every night, with the sound of the sea and the vision of the stars, moments in which you would not want to close your eyes to not miss a second of the experience.

On the upper floor we have a large bedroom, with four single beds, in addition to another fully equipped bathroom. An eighth bed is found in the living room, located under the stairwell, where another person can sleep.

As in the rest of the cabins, Cabaña La Vega has a television in the living room, a wood stove, which every day the staff prepares for us to have it ready at night when we arrive from our Chiloé routes, a large terrace overlooking the sea where it is a luxury to have breakfast or a coffee in the morning, free parking by the cabin and wifi included in the price of the room.

Common spaces in Cabañas Alcamar
One of the great incentives that Cabañas Alcamar has is the direct contact with the environment and nature. Starting with stunning views of the sea, from each of the 5 cabins until you can walk along the seashore, when the tide goes down, being able to catch some clams or shellfish, or just enjoy the scenery, relaxing and also admiring some of the More than 10 species of birds that can be seen in this area of Chiloé.

In addition to the beach area, in Cabañas Alcamar they take full care of the details, some of which you can find between the cabins, such as a small gazebo, a few swings or a bench, between two boats that is a perfect corner in which to relax With a book and a cup of coffee.

Although during our stay it was not yet operational, for 2017 Cabañas Alcamar will incorporate a large restaurant, with stunning views of the sea, into which you can taste the authentic cuisine of Chile, something that will give you even more value to stay here, since that the possibility of having breakfast or dinner, after a long day knowing Chiloé, next to your cabin and with unique views, is undoubtedly an extra valuable contribution.

In addition to all the facilities, Cabañas Alcamar has a small orchard that will take, directly to the table, some of the products that are served in the Restaurant, something that we hope to be able to live the day we return to Chiloé, since without any kind of doubt, we will return to Cabañas Alcamar.
