Day 25: Easter Island: What to see in Hanga Roa

After the full day we had yesterday starting with the incredible sunrise in Ahu Tongariki until the rest of the day that led us to make one of the most complete Easter Island routes, and then end the day with a dinner with Cris and Carles, going to bed a little later than we are used to, today has been a slightly less early morning and more after seeing that the weather forecast is not too positive, something that we will use to enjoy the places what to see in Hanga Roa, which were pending the first day we arrived at Easter Island.

So we took advantage of the room at the Hangaroa Eco Village Spa, getting up a little later than usual and when it's almost 8:30 in the morning, after breakfast we decided to take the morning with all the tranquility possible, getting in the car and visiting Rano Kau, the crater we were in a couple of days ago and that impressed us so much.
The truth is that when the day is more covered, the views we have are not as impressive as the ones we had the first day, so that added to the fact that we have left the tripod in the hotel, this does not get us up early has a so much gone, we decided not to stay too long and spend the rest of the morning in Hanga Roa, enjoying the town and the relaxation it gives just by walking through its streets.

We park in the center, the best option for everything we have what to see in Hanga Roa, and we began to tour, again, all the places we visited the first day we arrived at Easter Island.

What to see in Hanga Roa

We spend the rest of the morning getting lost in the streets of Hanga Roa, drinking coffee in a cafeteria in La Caleta and how could it be otherwise, go through several stores in search of some memory, that once at home, make us remember Easter Island.

And so we spent this morning on Easter Island, relaxed, to the rapa nui rhythm that we wanted to enjoy so much and that, sincerely, after the days we took from this trip to Chile and Easter Island, we also needed.

It's two in the afternoon when we return to the Hangaroa Eco Village Spa to enjoy an excellent lunch at the Poevara Restaurant, with a couple of delicious carpaccio dishes, a meat dish, an assortment of shrimp and a couple of desserts with two espresso They accompany us during an excellent desktop.

One of the things that attract us the most of the Poevara Restaurant is that although you order dishes that you have already tried, as we have done in any of the choices we have made, in the kitchen they give it a special touch, which makes each dish totally different. Either with a new sauce, with a different decoration or plated in a different way, something that makes it seem that even if you repeat dish, you are eating something totally different.

After eating and seeing that the sky is quite cloudy we decided to go to the room for a while to rest, to continue taking the day rapanui mode And it is that as we were told when we arrived, many foreigners come looking for Easter Island relaxation and they are the ones who bring the stress of each day, so they do not relax at all.

Book the best rated Spanish tours and excursions in Easter Island by travelers:

- Tahai, Orongo and the Rano Kau volcano
- Easter Island and Anakena Beach Tour

- Excursion to Ahu Akivi
- Guided tour by Hanga Roa

The truth is that when they told us this they made us think, and above all, to think that at least a couple of days we would try to forget everything and enjoy only the pleasure of doing nothing.
And so, almost without realizing it, between nap, dip in the pool and coffee on the terrace, arrive 5:00 in the afternoon, at which time we decided to go back to Hanga Roa, to make some purchases that we have pending, also taking advantage to go to one of the sports centers or gyms of Hanga Roa, where currently one of the groups participating in the Tapati, the most important party on the island, which will take place in February, have started their rehearsals.

Tourists let us in, but under no circumstances take photos or record, something that the truth would not have mattered, even if it had been a few shots, so that you would have seen how incredible it is and the magic that emanate, each and every one of them, every minute of the rehearsals.
For us this is a unique opportunity since we will not be in February, when the Tapati is celebrated, and now we have the opportunity to see both the groups of young children, as youth and adults who since January 1 are preparing for this party so important on Easter Island.
Here we have also met Cristina and Carles from WeTravel.cat to say goodbye, as they continue their trip around the world to Tahiti tonight and we thought that there was no better place than this to say goodbye, hoping to meet again anywhere in the world.

And so, enjoying as we would not have expected, from the rehearsals of Tapati, when it is 9:00 we return to the Hangaroa Eco Village Spa, with a sky that threatens rain, and it does not take long to show us its fury when we are already at the Poevara Restaurant having dinner and enjoying a unique table, watching the rain fall with a coffee in our hands.

A table that we extend to the room, where after working for a while, we sit on the terrace to enjoy a unique sky, in which the rain mixes with the smell of grass and the sound of the waves breaking on the coast seem wanting to accompany us all night ... raining half with the sun and the sound breaking from the waves in the room
