BALI, THE ISLAND WITH PERSONALITY DISTURBES

Well what was missing! Also the islands now suffer from personality disturbances. And it is clear that what Bali has is an obvious bipolar disorder: extreme changes in his mood, his nervousness, his improvised euphoria, his kindness followed by hustle and bustle ... pouf! Is it good? Is it bad? will he win good? Or will evil win? Bali Yes or Bali No? We'll see…

FACTORS THAT WE DON'T LIKE BALI

  1. KUTA: The same old story, another branch of Koh San Road full of tanned uncles and no shirts. Already bored
  2. ATM: no, not if ATMs work well! Just that feeling a human ATM is not very pretty. Balinese: that not all bules (that's what they call us) are rich!
  3. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: inaccessible, or pray for a bemo to pass by, or ride a motorcycle because if you expect a public transport network and cheap give up
  4. ENTRANCE FEE: the price of being in one of the most tourist sites in the world is this: you pay for everything. Do you want to go with the motorcycle to the beach? Pay for parking. Well and also about 20 centimillos to pass through this street. And I don't even tell you to enter the temple. Why don't you have sarong? Well, they rent you there. The rice terraces, € 1! Aiiiiiiii

FACTORS THAT WE LIKE ABOUT BALI

  1. RELIGION: It is unique as it mixes belief in Hindu gods and doctrines alongside animistic beliefs and worship of Buddhist saints
  2. NATURE: lush, incredible, will leave you speechless ... and that green? Is it really real?
  3. OFFERINGS: beautiful: these are baskets made with banana leaves where people put flower petals of different colors, rice, even candies, coins and incense. This is a gift to the gods, to spirits, to nature, to ancestors.
  4. FOOD: My mother, I ate well on this island! Satay lilit, bregedel kentang, nasi and mee goreng, pepes ayam. And the best? The cooking course I did with my friends, so I can repeat Balinese dinners wherever I am! Yuppi !!!
  5. MOTORCYCLE: If you go to Bali, get a motorcycle and get lost there. You are going to cross with super friendly people, who will not see a traveling dollar, if not a rare white person who likes you.
  6. SUNSET: even in Kuta they are beautiful! Hehe
  7. COMETS: flipo! How many kites will we have seen? fifty? 100? 200? MANY! The smiles of the children running behind their kites and trying to reach the highest point in the sky, super nice. How long have you not seen a child with a kite in Spain? Will they be too involved with the playstation & co? When I return home I buy a kite. (although Roby still has Miguelito's)

But there is something that more than anything else makes a site like it or not, and it is the memory that remains of this place. Every time we think of Bali we will not remember either the kuta drunk Australians or the euros paid to park the motorcycle. I will remember the days spent with my friends discovering in Lovina the future “Indonesian idol”, of the stars under the baths, of the kilometers traveled with the petardeta motorcycle (yes, every 10 km I launched a somewhat suspicious rumor), of the monkeys sitting watching the horizon, breakfast at 7am with fried rice (I want another one!) and kites in the sky.

So for us BALI YOU ARE PRECIOUS! And yes: it is definitely worth Bali! (what a shame !!)
