Today begins at 7 in the morning, with a sun that awakens us entering through the window of the room and announces that Today we will have a boat trip through Cinque Terre, from Monterosso to Portovenere in fabulous.
At 8 in the morning we went down to breakfast at the lounge of the Hotel Souvenir and enjoyed a breakfast of those so special that you enjoy when you don't have to run.
Yesterday we looked at the different boat trips from Monterosso and we decided to take the one at 10.30 in the morning, which will take us from Monterosso to Portovenere for 15 euros per person.

If the ride in boat by Cinque Terre It would have been round trip, it would be 25 euros per person.
We wanted to make this journey by boat on a sunny day to enjoy the views of the Cinque Terre villages and the truth is that we could not have had more luck. Today is the first day that dawns sunny since we arrived at Cinque Terre.
When we arrive in Portovenere we want to visit the town, so the idea is to leave the luggage there in a slogan and after visiting Portovenere we go to La Spezia, which is where we will stay today.
This trip to Cinque Terre is being a breath of fresh air at a very hectic month. It is definitely turning out a perfect balm.
At 10.30 in the morning our boat leaves from Monterosso to Portovenere, which will allow us to make a journey in boat by Cinque Terre and have a different perspective, full of color, of these wonderful villages that we have been lucky to meet.

Waiting for the boat trip through Cinque Terre

This tour can not do anything other than recommend it, in order to have a very different perspective of Cinque Terre than can be seen from the ground.

Boat from Monterosso to Portovenere

It is best to take advantage of the round trip from La Spezia or Portovenere to Cinque Terre, checking the schedules well and thus saving you a train journey in the best possible way.

Vernazza from the boat

Corniglia from the ship by Cinque Terre

The journey lasts approximately 1 hour and a half, from Monterosso to Portovenere and we would certainly repeat it again, not only for enjoying this corner of Italy in a different way, but also for knowing, as we discussed before, this area from such a different perspective.

Manarola from the sea on the ship by Cinque Terre

The amazing Riomaggiore from the sea

On the boat trip through Cinque Terre, we can enjoy privileged views of Via Dell'Amore, which is currently closed.

Paseo del Amor seen from the sea

Once we start to enter with the boat in Portovenere we see that this town will also make us fall in love. It is very similar to the rest of the towns we have visited in Cinque Terre, but we know before arriving, that it will have its own personality, which distinguishes it from the rest.

Arriving in Portovenere after the boat tour of Cinque Terre

As soon as we disembarked with our suitcases and see the ticket office, we found that it is impossible to store our luggage for space, so we decided to go to the top of the town, from where the Buses from Portovenere to La Spezia, to leave our luggage in our accommodation and return to Portovenere at noon with peace of mind.

- Book the best excursion to Cinque Terre from Florence here

The truth is that now seeing it, it would have been better to stay directly in Portovenere, because even if it is more expensive, in the end between the price of buses and lost time, it makes up for leftovers.
And so our bus arrives where we get on to go to La Spezia.
When we ride, the driver tells us that we have to pay by SMS. Contrary to the answer, we ask him again and he tells us that he has no tickets to sell on the bus and that we have to pay by SMS, through the phone.
So we got on the bus and towards La Spezia that we can't see the ticket.
Who understands to explain it to us because we have not understood it at this time of day. (As we use this service, we will know what the driver was referring to).
We arrive at La Spezia half an hour later and after arriving at the La Spezia Inn hotel where we will stay and leave our bags, we will make our way back to the bus stop and take another to return us to Portovenere.

Bus schedule to Portovenere

And we return to them before, they tell us to buy the tickets by message, but on this bus it explains: you have to send the message to a phone number and they return the message with the ticket that you have to present to the driver when you get off .
We tried a couple of times with both phones, but it gives us an error, so another trip without paying that we are going to hit.
We arrive again in Portovenere at 2 noon and we go straight to eat since with the time it is and since we had breakfast this morning, we need to charge energy.
We stopped at a Tratorria and ordered a tuna carpaccio and two pasta dishes, plus water and beer for 41 euros, including 3 euros per person for the cutlery we found since we arrived here.

Eating in Portovenere

It is clear that in Italy you can not eat badly, right?
We leave the restaurant ready to make the table with a good express in the inner area of the city and pass by the Tourist Office with the best schedule we have ever seen: from 10 to 12 and from 15 to 18.

Corners of Portovenere

But we go up and up and in the end we reach the area of the church, the castle and the Byron grotto, so we decided to visit this area and then enjoy the desktop we have left behind.

St. Peter's Church in Portovenere

Grotto Byron in Portovenere

The views are spectacular from this area of Portovenere and it is one of these essential areas that you can not miss if you come to the town and more when being an area quite far from the center, it is quite quiet.

Views of Portovenere from the Church of San Pedro

After a good time in this area of the town, we enjoy a tour back to the center by getting into all the little streets that surround the main street and that allow us to know corners worthy of any postcard.

Streets of Portovenere

We arrived at the central area of Portovenere and stopped for coffee and a glass of ice cream for 6.50 euros, which we enjoyed with that table that we had left parked for a few hours.

Streets of Portovenere always marked by the colorful

At 5 in the afternoon, we return to the village streets to climb Doria Castle.

Streets of Portovenere in Italy

This is one of the most special walks, getting lost in the streets parallel to the main one, which offers us incredibly beautiful corners and in which you do not cross any tourist.
At 6 pm and after a full day, we return to the bus stop where we catch the bus with an SMS 😉 takes us back to La Spezia.
Now it's time to go to our La Spezia Inn hotel, rest for a while and a few minutes before 8 o'clock, go back to the street to have dinner at a restaurant near the hotel.
And looking at Tripadvisor we find the Sakura restaurant, a Japanese with very good opinions, in which for 20 euros per person, we can eat everything we want.
We don't have much hope, but we come in and explain that we can effectively take everything we want from the letter.
And when we look at the letter we hallucinate. They have everything you can imagine of a Japanese restaurant, including sushi and sashimi boats for only 20 euros per person.
Now we can only ask and check the quality.

Having sushi dinner at La Spezia

And after dinner we can say it was great. 100% recommended by these addicts to Japanese cuisine, which we also tasted yesterday in Riomaggiore.
It is clear that the quality is not the same as that of our restaurant Bokoto, in Lleida or those of Japan, but without a doubt, for the price it is a gift.
If he were next to home, he would surely see us more than a day around here.
And at 10 at night, with a very full stomach, we will rest at our hotel in La Spezia.
Tomorrow is our last day in Cinque Terre.
