How to get from Paris to Versailles by train

The fastest way to go from Paris to Versailles is to take line C of the RER train that will take you in 30 minutes to Versailles Rive Gauche station, located 10 minutes walk from the palace entrance.
These trains leave every 15 minutes and the ticket, which has to cover zones 1-4, costs about 4 euros each way. You don't need to book it in advance.
To get to this train line you can take the subway and change at a station that links to the RER C. For example, if you are staying in the Le Marais neighborhood you can take the subway line 8 (pink) and connect with RER C at the Invalides stop.
It is necessary to pay attention that the direction of the train is that of Versailles Château - Rive Gauche, since this line forks in two.

Another good option to get to the Palace of Versailles by train, if you are near the Paris-Montparnasse station, is to take the N line of the Transilien that takes you in 15 minutes to the Versailles-Chantiers station, located 20 minutes walk from the entrance .
If you are closer to the La Défense-Grande Arche station, you can take the U line of the Transilien that also leaves you at Versailles-Chantiers.
And finally, from the Paris Saint-Lazare station, the L line of the Transilien leaves you at the Versailles Rive Droite stop, located 20 minutes walk from the palace.

How to get to Versailles by bus

A less recommended way of go from Paris to Versailles It is to use the Versailles Express bus that leaves the Eiffel Tower from Tuesday to Sunday and costs about 25 euros. How to visit the Palace of Versailles
