In the middle of the pleasant historical center of Jodhpur is this wonderful little castle built in 1837 and today gives rise to two of the coolest hotels in the city. We stayed at the "little brother", the Haveli Inn Pal, which is also managed by the little brother of the family.

It has 17 rooms, each decorated in a different way, which are distributed around a central courtyard. The ones above have views of the fort or the lake.

The patio was the first thing we saw of the hotel when arriving with the car that was to pick us up (I say car and not tuctuc, a luxury!) And we were left with our mouths open. We weren't very castles but after this I think we're going to be fond of more! Every corner of the hotel is special, but it is on the terrace where the senses soar with the wonderful views of the fort, the biggest attraction of the city, and without doubt one of the most spectacular places we have seen.

Any time is good to rest up here with a tea and listen to the prayers of the mosques or the music bands of a nearby wedding. A haven of peace in the busy India! It really is a little backpacker whim that you can't have every day, but if you are thinking of staying in a special place in Jodhpur this is a great place!
