We continue exploring the ethnic restaurants of Barcelona ... today we return to Asia and travel to a country that we have not visited and that increasingly attracts our attention: Korea.

We knew very little about Korean cuisine but after having eaten at the Han-Na restaurant we have been wanting to know more! We were also lucky to meet Cristian Lee, a Korean boy who has grown up in Barcelona, and has told us many things about the cuisine of his country.

The concept of food in Korea is quite different from ours: nor there are first and second courses ... all food is eaten together and accompanied with rice. In addition, Han-Na has a peculiarity: apart from being a restaurant, it is also a tapas bar, so you can try small portions of food to enter the Korean world.

The drink was a discovery: as usual, we ordered beer, but Cristian suggested we drink it with SOJU, a fermented rice-based drink that has made the evening happy. It has 20º but mixed with the beer it has raised us and it has left us a little piripi! And we loved it!

To accompany the first beer the first thing we tried was the KONG, macerated black bean seeds ... remember the magic seeds that Goku took to have more strength? Yes they are! Hehe very curious! They are rich in protein, so Goku drew so much energy.

Next we tried a MOUSSE OF TORTILLA DE JUEVO with sesame seeds. Very rich!

Then the rice and the KIMCHI, perhaps one of the most famous and characteristic dishes of Korea. This is cabbage fermented in hot sauce. And it does itch! Although it is a spicy that pleases ... it has certainly been one of the most curious dishes we have ever tasted, with a unique and special flavor.

It is also said that fermented foods are very healthy: they raise the defenses, lower cholesterol and prolong life. And if you wonder how someone started to eat fermented food. Cristian has told us that this custom began in the time of the samurai, when they traveled for long periods, and of course the food was not preserved ... they discovered that it was very tasty!

Finished the Kimchi it was time to try the DEJI-GALBI A plate of pork ribs battered in a paste made of red pepper powder, spicy, spicy and delicious: we loved them!

To finish warming our body and soul we tried a Chard, chicken, beef and soy soup: very rich!

For dessert we drink pineapple with melted chocolate and a cupcake similar to Japanese mochi that is made with a kind of ground glutinous rice and mixed with water. Very curious, we had never tried it and we liked it!

The Han-Na menu is much more extensive and each dish looks great !! But the best thing about the restaurant is its personality: it unites the tradition, thanks to the recipes of Mrs. Hai that since the 70s cheers up her family and her neighbors, with a modern atmosphere and many original ideas such as language exchange, K projection -dramas and karaoke nights. Come on, we advise you without a doubt.

Thank you very much Cristian for taking care of us so well!
