Another great recipe that comes from middle East. We love them: they can be eaten as a single dish accompanied by yogurt sauce or with pita bread, lettuce and tomato. It is a very cheap and really easy dish! You do not believe it? Look at this easy and simple recipe for cooking falafel at home

Ingredients (for 4-6 people)

For the Falafel

  • ½ kg of canned chickpeas
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • A good handful of parsley
  • A good handful of coriander (Since Rober doesn't like it, we've changed it for mint)
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Frying oil

For the sauce

  • Natural yogurt
  • A handful of mint leaves
  • 1 clove garlic

Elaboration

1) With the blender we crush the chickpeas with the breadcrumbs, the parsley, the cilantro (in our case mint), the onions, the garlic. If it gets too thick add warm water.

2) Add salt, pepper, cumin and yeast.

3) Let rest for 30-45 minutes.

4) With the dough we form meatballs or mini hamburgers, if the dough is too liquid you can help by adding more breadcrumbs.

5) Fry and prepare the mint sauce simply by mixing the ingredients and crushing them in the blender.

6) We serve It has occurred to us that mixing chickpeas with peas and potatoes can be a good idea ... mmm when we try it we tell you!

And that's it! An easy and simple recipe for cooking falafel at home!
