Already, we know that it is the furthest place in your house.
We also know that to get here you would have to fly many hours, too many perhaps. And we know that Thailand is very beautiful and very cheap, that Mexico is closer and that Ibiza is always Ibiza. But let us tell you something: New Zealand is cool, and a lot.
Here we give you 10 reasons to go to New Zealand:

1- GASTRONOMY

Oops, I see you twisting your nose. And you do well: fish & chips and pie (eye, pies not feet!) Are not exactly delicatessen, but there is a surprise ... although New Zealand, due to its "short" history, does not have a true gastronomic culture, the good thing is which receives very interesting influences from the largest kitchens in the world. You will only have to shop around the supermarket or a busy street in Auckland: you will find many varied offers! Do you fancy a butter chicken? Pasta with pesto? Sushi? Pad thai? Falafel? Ramen? Pizza? Greek? Some caps? Here you have everything!
And besides ... do you really think that kiwis only eat cakes and fish & chips? Nothing of that! They put some lamb dishes with mint sauce to suck your fingers! And they have invented a very interesting fusion cuisine, not very native but delicious. Come on you're not going to starve!

2- THE LANDSCAPES

Sea or mountain? It doesn't matter: in New Zealand there are good examples of both… beaches that never seem to end, surfing waves, volcanoes and mountains to climb, green hills, fjords, lakes, vintage cities that seem to be taken from the old west and many, many surprises.
If you are also a fan of the 'Lord of the Rings' you will never want to leave this land.
One last recommendation: if the landscapes by day seem impressive, at night they are surreal! We never saw so many stars like here and the Milky Way so beautiful and bright ... ains how beautiful you are New Zealand.

3- KIWI

But which one? The kiwis here are 3: the kiwi-fruit (which, we break the myth, was born in China), the kiwi-bird (the little bird symbol of the nation) and the kiwi-people (the inhabitants of New Zealand call themselves that) . Come on, there are kiwi-mania in those parts.

4- MAORI

Did you know that the real name of New Zealand is Aoteroa (the country of the long white cloud) and its original inhabitants are the Maori? Do you know their culture, rich in traditions and motologies? It is undoubtedly one of the most interesting reasons to visit New Zealand. And although today the Maori are perfectly integrated into modern times, it is also true that they do not forget the traditions of their ancestors.
What shocked us the most is the art of 'Tā moko': the Maori tattoos (both on the face and on the body) that allow us to differentiate the origin clan and the personal history of the wearer. It is not difficult to run into a Maori with a completely tattooed face ... the first impact is brutal but it will not take you long to find it fascinating (mom if you read these lines do not worry that I will not return home with a tattooed face).
Another thing that we like very much is the 'hongi', the traditional Maori greeting, which consists of joining your face with that of the other interlocutor, until nose and forehead meet.
The truth is that trying to describe the Maori culture in a few lines is practically impossible, so it is best to come here and discover it live!

5- RUGBY

What a kick with football! Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo and company are more delicate than the rose of Beauty and the Beast and it is enough to throw a little breath on his face so that they are thrown to the ground as if they were dying. Ok, right? Change sports and go ballet!
Lucky that here the national heroes, the All Blacks, are not so weak ... and they also have something that makes everyone like them, the men will be delighted by the Haka, the ritual dance they perform before each game, and the girls we We will be surprised and ask ourselves two things: a) how many muscles can the human body develop ?! b) how the hell does the offside work ?!

6- ENGLISH

We already know that London is a couple of hours away by plane but ... it always rains there! Also here the accent is more fun ...

7- HOUSESITTING

New Zealand is one of the best places to do housesitting, a fantastic way to get to know a place saving money and living like a local.

8- THE ANIMALS

Okay, okay, there won't be koalas or kangaroos ... but in New Zealand you can run into animals that you didn't even know existed, such as the pukeko, a blue bird with a red beak, the tatutara, a lizard that looks like a mini dinosaur or the 'glow' -worms', insects that live in caves and in the dark shine! And obviously the kiwis, the sheep, the possum, the kakapo, the kingfisher, the cows, the whales, the dolphins, the penguins (which we still didn't see) and with a little luck you could run into Kevin, the pig that loves to travel by car!

9- ON THE ROAD

How many times did you dream of taking a trip on the road? Here it is not only possible, but it is the best solution: traveling by van is a unique experience that will allow you to stop sleeping in hotels at 1-2-3-4-5 stars to sleep under thousands of stars!

10- MAKE HAPPY TO YOUR PARENTS

After this trip there will be no place on earth that is farther away: if your parents are from those who care about distance, tell them that New Zealand is an investment ... next year you will go to a closer destination and you will not have to worry so much!
