At first it was a bit of a click. It was nice if, but it wasn't far from what we expected. To begin with, the guest of honor had not shown up for the appointment.

'This is not done,' we thought, 'you make us get up at 5, do a few km by bus, get here super excited and then see that you have hidden.'

I know he's shy, but the Mount Fuji He had decided to remain so calm behind clouds that protected his face and silhouette. Again.
Although today he was not the protagonist. The Fuji Shibazakura Matsuri festival It is one of the most colorful festivals in the world. The reason? 800,000 shibazakura flowers of a rose so bright that it seems that someone has saturated it with an invisible instagrammian filter!

Flowering takes place between April and May (in that we were lucky!) And the name refers to 'grass' (shiba) and 'cherry tree' (sakura) so you can well imagine the happiness of the Japanese - crazy about it sakura- seeing whole pink fields in front of her eyes!

The grace is that Mount Fuji would have to appear in the background, as framed in this idyllic image. But in our case, the bastard, decided to evade his commitment by leaving us lying, although we must always look for a positive side, and soon we were rewarded with a Mount Fuji - a fake teddy - but much more floreal than the original.

The shibazakura They have different shades of roses (from bright pink, almost fuchsia, light pink and violet), this allows to create authentic flower sculptures that remove the hiccups.

What also took away the hiccups were the prices of drinks, food and ice cream at the festival: for again it will be ... also on the tour we were entering a stop at a strawberry growing: there we could boots! If traveling with tours has its negative sides (many people, in a hurry, a lot of car) but the food is cool! Look what bento pijo gave us to eat: this was a real treat and mother ... it was delicious.

Once again Japan left us speechless ... if this country is the bomb!

USEFUL INFO

Entry price: 520¥.
Where: It takes place at the foot of Mount Fuji, near Lake Motosu.
How to get there by free (from Tokyo): you have to catch the JR Chuo train at Shinjuku station to Otsuki, from there we take the Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko. Once in Kawaguchiko we will take the Shibazakura line that will leave us in the festival area (35 min)
Tour: we did it with the company JBT Sunrise Tours He invited us to try this tour.
Worth? The place is undoubtedly beautiful but we have to say that, of all the tours we did with JTB, this was the one we liked least. It was many hours of travel (between going, back and stop-fill) to enjoy during a horita of the festival (we also had bad luck both for not being able to see Mount Fuji as for visiting it during the Golden Week in which half Japan moves and goes on vacation: -S). Unless you are not a great lover of photography, we honestly do not recommend it.
How much: ¥ 8,980 (in exchange about € 64).
