Day 0: PREPARATIONS
This year 2013 we started traveling. When it was time for the change of the year, we were finishing our trip through Israel and Palestine and we already knew that 2013 was quite loaded with travel, something that, how could it be otherwise ... we love it !!
At that time we already had several flights in our hands, which would take us to some of the places that until now had been on the list of our traveling dreams.
One of them met him during Holy Week, when we escaped to Bristol, Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge and finally we met “those mysterious stones” that we had heard so much about and read.
Now it is the turn of a country that has been calling our attention for many years and in this year we have found the perfect moment to get to know it.
It is a country that has not yet reached mass tourism and in which we hope to find that authenticity that, we have been assured, still exists and we like to find it so much when we travel.
It has many nicknames, all of them so seductive that just by reading them, our imagination begins to fly ... "The Pearl of the Indian", "The Tear of India", "The Island of a Thousand Names" ...

We will start our route through the south, knowing some of the most famous beaches of Sri Lanka such as Mirissa, where we have affordable accommodation for a couple of days, Koggala, Tangalle and especially Galle, one of the most beautiful cities in Sri Lanka.

Then we will go to the P.N. from Yala, where we hope to do a safari, trying to see the elusive leopards that are still in this area of Sri Lanka.
From here we will go to Ella, where we will spend a couple of nights. We want to dedicate the days that we are there to walk through the tea plantations, to travel the train tracks ... in that calm and calm environment that we have been told that the city has and that we are already looking forward to meet!

After these days, we will depart by train to Nuwara Eliya, in that “toy train” that runs through the Highlands of Sri Lanka and how much we want to use as a means of transport! This is one of the experiences that we are sure, you have to live at least once in Sri Lanka.

From here we will enter, surely combining taxi and tuk tuk, to take advantage of the best time, in the Cultural Triangle, where we will pass through Dambulla, Sigiriya, Habarana, Polonnaruwa, Aukana, Anuradhapura and Mihintale, among other intermediate destinations to which We will dedicate 3 full days.

Maldives It is a destination that we had looked at countless times and that never, most of the time for economic reasons and for days, had squared us on other trips.
This time, telling us that we had to go through Colombo yes or yes to travel to Sri Lanka and that this is a mandatory stopover to fly to Maldives, the idea of spending a few days in this paradise began to gain strength.
After verifying that the price of the plane ticket was only expensive 80 euros, for flying to Malé the capital of Maldives, we could not resist assessing the option of making Maldives the ideal complement for this trip to Sri Lanka.
So after looking at several accommodations, before deciding, to finish convincing ourselves of the viability of this idea, we put the blanket to the head and took out the plane tickets.
We will arrive in Male at 11 p.m., so it will be our first night in Maldives, we will spend it in a hotel in the capital, to move, the next day by seaplane, to the South Ari atoll.

And knowing that this part of the trip was going to be, despite being only a few days, an important part at the economic level, we have tried to find something that falls within our concept of "paradise", but without destroying the initial budget of the trip.
