Day 14: TRANSFER TO STONE TOWN

Friday, November 12, 2010

Today Roger has to get up early, at 6 in the morning the alarm sounds and at 6 and a few minutes he goes with some of the group to the dolphin swim excursion. I take the opportunity to walk for a while, take a shower and pack my bags for him transfer to Stone Town the capital of Zanzibar.
About 8 o'clock I am going to have breakfast with the rest of the group and seeing that the dolphins do not arrive, we begin to worry a little.
In the end they appear at 10 in the morning with the face of few friends: they have not been able to see any dolphins. And look they had said that in 99% of the outings they saw dolphins and could swim with them.

Zanzibar in Tanzania

On top of that there was a very bad sea and they come with a messy stomach. Roger does not even have breakfast, he has been lying in one of the chairs for a while and so it seems that he is a little better.

We spend the morning between laughs and walks around the grounds of the Karamba Resort in Zanzibar waiting for the time to move to Stone Town.

Zanzibar in Tanzania

Today we have the food a little sooner, at 12.30 so that time does not come on us.

Our hotel in Zanzibar

The truth is that the morning flies by and when we realize, it is time to eat and pack all the bags.

Our room in Kizimkazi. Zanzibar

At 3 in the afternoon they come to look for us the move to Stone Town.

Zanzibar in Tanzania

We settled in the mini bus and in an hour or so we arrived at the hotel in Stone Town, the Mtoni Marine Resort.
They give us the rooms and we must recognize that they are the most “luxurious” of the trip, but it does not compensate for that with the situation, views, surroundings that we have had in the others.

Our room at the Stone Town hotel in Zanzibar

The rest of the afternoon we have left, we take the opportunity to go to the pool and the bar to have a drink, which seems to be more in a place like this.
We had dinner at 9 pm at tables set up on the beach, with candles. The truth is that the atmosphere is very beautiful and relaxing in the Stone Town hotel, but it is still too touristy.
After dinner and listen to some live music, we will rest. We spent the last time talking to each other on the small porch that we have in front of the rooms.
Our last day in Zanzibarapproaches. Tomorrow we have the full day to meet Stone Town and we will take the opportunity to do some shopping. Although we carry the backpack a little loaded with wood carvings that we buy in Kizimkazi, we can always make a little more hole.
