Day 20: DIAMONDS THUDUFUSHI (WATER VILLA) - Transfer to BEACH BUNGALOW

Today we woke up to the sound of the waves in our Water Villa and remember that it is the day that we will make the transfer to Beach Bungalow in Maldives.
The peace we feel when we wake up is incredible and difficult to explain. Just opening our eyes and seeing what we have in front of us makes it clear that we are in the Maldiva's Islands, at the Diamonds Thudufushi resort in Ari Sud.
It had been a long time since this happened to us and we no longer remembered this experience.
In Lombok, in Indonesia we were lucky to be able to experience it and it is certainly one of the memories we have of that island.

Today is the last day we will spend at the Water Villas, so we do not have much fun in bed and after having our coffee machine on the terrace of the room, we put on our swimsuits to take a dip before breakfast.
At 8 o'clock in the morning we have the staff guys stinging at the door, with trays full of delicacies that will make our last morning here a show!

We have breakfast with tranquility and spend the rest of the morning on our terrace, taking advantage of the sun's rays that we have today.

Shortly before 12, we collect the backpacks and after that time they call us by phone to let us know that in a few minutes they will come to find us with one of the strollers to take us to what will be our next accommodation the following 3 nights: Beach bungalows of Diamonds Thudufushi in Ari Sud in the Maldives.

With us comes a staff girl who asks us how was the stay ... etc and just ride in the stroller, begins to explain things about the Beach Bungalows in Maldives.
Being the first time we came at Maldiva's Islands The idea was to try a little of everything they offered us, so from the first moment we were very clear that we wanted to combine a few days in Water Villas with others in Beach bungalows.
Although it seems an absurd thing, you can not imagine the turns we gave to the possible combinations of days and type of room.
In the end and thanks to the help of several forums and Isaac and Paula de Chavetas who had already been in Maldives, we decided that the best combination was to be the first two days at the Water Villas and the last 3 nights at the Beach Bungalows.

Now, after the experience, we can say that we liked Water Villas more, contrary to what everyone had told us would happen to us 😉
The intimacy we had, the comforts ... etc, we liked more than not in the Beach Bungalows in Maldives.
Counting that if you feel like going to the beach, you just have to take your towel and cross the walkway to get there, we see the idea of spending more days at the Water Villas much more suggestive.
Although that must also be said to increase the budget!
Lucky that in the end we decided to try them, because a lot of people had come to tell us that it wasn't worth it.
It's clear that we don't like most people 😉
That said, we continue with the Beach Bungalows of the Diamonds Thudufushi of the Maldiva's Islands.
The bungalows are large in size and have all the amenities we can imagine.
One of the things we like and a lot, is the bathroom, which is discovered, something that in the Water Villas, although we had 3 varieties of showers, none of them were discovered ... they had a direct door to the terrace, but no discovered.

The bed is huge and as in the Water Villa, very comfortable!

We also have mini bar at our disposal, with everything included.

One of the things we found to be missing is that we have no Wi-Fi connection. It will seem silly and more thinking that we come at Maldiva's Islands to rest, but we will not lie if we say that from time to time we like to connect to see "what happens in the world ..."

Between we stay and no, it is after one in the afternoon, so we go straight to the beach bar, to have a drink before going to the Beach Restaurant, where we will have to have breakfast, lunch and dinner from now.
If we are staying in the Beach bungalows of the Diamonds Thudufushi and we want to go to eat in the Restaurant on the Water, we can do it, reserving table before at the reception and paying a supplement for it.
The truth is that we have the firm idea of not doing so and enjoying these days the buffet we have in the beach restaurant.
After having a drink, we go to the restaurant and we have assigned our table in one of the parts near the starters and grilled.

As soon as we arrive, they serve us the drink we ask for and just by giving the restaurant a first round, we already feel that we are going to like it almost more than the Restaurant on Water!
We have a complete table of different types of breads, sticks ... etc
Another of the tables has 4 or 5 varieties of fish carpaccio, with different sauces to accompany it.
In the central island, we have about 20 types of salads, starters, canapés, tastings ... Around this we find the second dishes that include from typical food of the Maldiva's Islands, even meats, vegetables, rice ... etc.
Apart there are always a couple of prepared pasta dishes.
Then we have the area of "food the moment" where every day, we can choose between three types of pasta that are made in 5 minutes ... great!
On the other side of the bar, we have the area of pizzas and paninis, where in the same way as pasta, they serve you pizzas made at the moment.
If all this seems like a lot ... we still have the iron! Where every day we have several species of fish and meat, which make you on a plate at the moment.

And after all this, we have the island of desserts! Where we have about 30 varieties of ice cream, cakes, cupcakes, fruits ...
Everything we have said has incredible quality and is cooked to perfection.
We have never been very fond of buffets, but we have to say that the Diamonds Thudufushi Beach Restaurant has one of the best buffets we have ever tasted, if not the best!
After the meal, how could it be otherwise, we go to the beach bar, where we take our espresso and finish making the table.
Almost without realizing it, the afternoon is on us, so we go to Beach Bungalows in Maldives to rest for a while and take advantage of some sun rays that is leaving us a slightly cloudy afternoon ...

Before returning to the beach bar for a drink before dinner, we took the opportunity to hire a snorkel excursion for Roger and a massage for me.

And so we spent the rest of the afternoon ... between the Beach bungalows, the Beach Bar ... and the best part is that as much as we meet people, we cannot say that it is a crowded place ... the other way around.

In low season, at this time, at most we will be about 15 people staying at the Diamonds Thudufushi, so the feeling of being almost alone is continuous.

Before 9 at night, the sky suddenly turns black and we take shelter at the Beach Bar, while a storm falls that after 20 minutes leaves a completely clear sky.

Shortly before 10 pm we return to the Beach Restaurant and after dinner in a memorable way, we go to the bar to have coffee and a cocktail, before stopping by the reception to connect for a while before returning to our Beach Bungalows in Maldives.
It's almost 12 at night and we sit on our Diamonds Thudufushi terrace. The waves are heard and we have a blanket of stars as a ceiling. We can not ask for more, we are in paradise. We are very lucky.
