Upon arrival at the entrance of the Riverside Cabanas, we realize that it is not just any hotel, the staff receives us at the same reception, where after accommodating us on some sofas, they bring us a couple of juices of natural fruit to freshen up.

The first thing we do is check in and then explain some details of the hotel.
They give us the keys and we go directly accompanied by them to what will be our room the next few days.
We will be on the second floor of a two-story houses, painted in pastel colors, which make the environment very pleasant.

As soon as we enter our room, we are struck by how big it is.
We have a couple of furniture, where to leave the backpacks.

The bed is big and comfortable enough to, just see it, congratulate the guy who accompanies us.
We have mosquito net, fan and air conditioning, to use at convenience.
They also have rooms with fan only, somewhat cheaper.

The bathroom is quite spacious and has all the comforts. The shower area is the traditional one in Sri Lanka, where we find neither a bathtub nor a shower tray, but the floor, in the shower part, is inclined so that the water comes out. As it has a curtain, this is not at all uncomfortable.

Right in front of the bed we have a terrace, with a table and two chairs, overlooking the garden that would delight anyone.
As soon as we arrive, we are already thinking of sitting down tonight to spend the last hours of the day here.

After resting for a while in the room and being lunchtime, we go down to the breakfast room, lunch / dinner, which is right next to the reception.
The lounge is big enough to feel comfortable even if there are more guests.
It is fully open, but with a roof, so it stays cool even if it is sunny.
It also has fans that turn on as soon as they arrive.

The menu is very extensive and we have from different options of curry 's (which must be ordered in advance), to fried rice, fried noodles, pizzas, pasta ... All the dishes have an average of 300-400 rupees and drinks about 100 rupees, including soft drinks.

It is best to order food as soon as you arrive at the hotel, take advantage while preparing it for a shower or rest and when they have it ready, they call you and you can go directly down to the dining room.
It can also be done with dinner, leaving it in charge or in the morning or in the afternoon before leaving again.
The gardens surrounding the facilities are one of the attractions in this hotel.
Being able to be on the terrace of the room or in the lower part surrounded by plants, makes you forget that you are in a hotel. Rather it seems that you are in the middle of nature.

All facilities are very clean and we see people at all times fixing the garden, cleaning the dining room ... etc.
Of course, the rooms are not made daily if it is not requested at the reception, something that not only occurs in this hotel, but in 90% of those who have been in Sri Lanka.
Towels, sheets also change them if you ask.

Breakfast is included in the price of the hotel and we can order it at the time we want, it is best to notify the night before, so that they have it prepared at the time you have chosen.
You have the option of ordering the typical Sri Lankan breakfast or ordering a continental breakfast that has natural juice, coffee or tea, fresh fruit, toast with butter and jam and eggs with sausages.
All fresh, quality and enough to not be able to finish it.

In hotels, one of the most important things, at least for us, is the treatment we receive.
Here, at the Riverside Cabanas, we can say that the hotel staff treated us great and we felt at home.
Without a doubt, it is a more than recommended hotel in Mirissa to which we will certainly return when we return to Sri Lanka ... we will surely do it!
