Today, January 15, 2018, we believe that this post to write to us now a year ago would not make much sense to read it right now without an update on how we have been this year and how we face the next.

We have once again said goodbye to the year and welcome you to 2018, traveling. On this occasion Mexico has been the chosen destination, where we have spent 1 month and a half discovering the incredible wonders of the country, in addition to corroborating that Mexico is much more than what the news teaches us and much more than Riviera Maya.
This trip to Mexico in 45 days has also become, as was the trip to Chile and Easter Island a point of reflection.
After last year we decided that the time had come to make a change in our lives and launch that New Year New Life, we can say that these 365 years have given us nothing but good times and be, again aware, of how lucky we are and how happy it makes us to have made the decision we made.
That is why, this 2018 we have it on the horizon with many plans, including several trips and long stays in places where we were already, as we did last year, in addition to continuing of course, working to the fullest in Travelers Stray
Japan, Greece, Copenhagen, Rome or South Africa are just some of the destinations confirmed for this 2018, see you there?

Right now we are in Easter Island, that small point far from the world, in which we assure you, it is true that a very special energy is breathed. Probably if this situation had not occurred, this post would not exist, such are the special moments for which we like to travel and move and at some point we find that place where everything is magical and in which we even imagine living a season
A few days ago we changed the year and that change in number, even if it seems a lie, means to us that we have always hated the moments associated with specific dates, a change in our lives. Now more than ever the phrase makes sense "New Year New Life".

"New Year New Life"

And although little or nothing we are given to speak on the blog about our private life, since we believe that one of the things that most identifies Street Travelers is talking about destinations and not about us in the destinations, this case is somewhat different, since with this "New Year New Life", the blog will look affected in a way, like the trips we make from now on or maybe the way we tell them from this moment.

Altiplanic lagoons. Chile

And now yes, let's go for what we are going to: 2017 is the date on which our traveler calendar will cease to have working days and holidays, in which to juggle to take vacations, to be completely at our disposal.
Two years ago I (Vanessa), I dedicate myself 100% to Street Travelers and Best Flight, so my availability when traveling is total, but Roger, despite dedicating some (quite a few) hours to the blog, has continued to have his Work for others.
A few months ago we reached a point where the maintenance of this travel blog was unfeasible for a single person, so the solution was to hire someone to help us or Roger was also dedicated to the blog full time. As you can imagine the first option remained in our head just under a minute and the second became the most viable, in addition to the most desired on a personal level.

Pier of Souls. Chiloé

With the decision already made, 2017 was and is the starting point for the birth of a new website on which we are already working, the time to create and publish much more content, in addition to the usual travel journals in Street Travelers, follow with the publication of offers in Best Flight, and the best, have a calendar in which each day can be Sunday for both.

We are very clear that this change does not mean that we do not have to work, it is more, for two years we have probably worked more hours than before, but we do it for ourselves and the best, we do what we really like, something we can say We feel great privileged. As Steve Jobs said, “If you don't work for your dreams, someone will hire you to work for theirs”.

This change also brings us the possibility of working both from anywhere, and although before we both worked from home, now we can do it from any corner of the world by not having established schedules or clients with defined schedules, since 99.9% of our work is specified by email. It is for this reason that we have proposed since this year to spend more time in cities or places that we have fallen in love with and that we want to enjoy with more tranquility, it is more, we already have flights and apartments to spend June and July in New York, the first of the destinations we have chosen where to establish ourselves to work and live the city at a slower pace than we enjoyed in March, when we made the trip to New York in 11 days.

NY

The initial idea is to continue traveling as until now, although we will surely not be able to resist making a trip more a year, making trips and getaways, more or less long (the first destination of the year will be Tibet in April), and then enjoy a couple of long stays a year somewhere we already know, but we want to enjoy more peace of mind. As you can imagine we have hundreds of places in mind: Bali, Bangkok, Kyoto, San Francisco, Maldives, Cuzco, Easter Island ...

Now we just have to enjoy this incredible trip to Chile and Easter Island and return home to start this new Year New Life in which we hope to continue working on what we like and continue to feel proud and very privileged to have managed to work on something that we do not need vacations.

Thank you very much for being there and for continuing to read us.
