This trip to Mexico in 45 days will take us to know some of the most interesting and tourist places of this incredible country, which we have to confess, we were looking forward to traveling.
Given the enormous extent of the country, although we have enough days, we have had to focus on the places that best fit our preferences, among which of course, are the most visited and also the most interesting, both culturally and archaeological.

Located in the southern part of North America, Mexico is a country that consists of 31 states in addition to Mexico City. Considered as the fourteenth largest country in the world with almost 2 million square kilometers, it is also the third largest country in Latin America.
With almost 120 million population in 2015 and the Spanish language as a majority language, Mexico is also considered the eleventh most populous country in the world.

Given that Mexico is a very large country and has very different meteorologically speaking areas, it is very difficult to determine the best time to visit the country as a whole, although in general and in summary we could say that any time is good to travel to Mexico, especially if your trip will include several different areas.
You should keep in mind that the areas of the southern part of the country, between the months of May to September, are usually quite hot and also humid, while in the more interior areas, between the months of October-November to February-March, They are usually cooler.
If we refer to the high season, this includes the holiday periods, which include the most important holidays such as summer (June-July and August), Christmas and Easter, periods in which tourism travels in greater volume and therefore it is advisable to reserve in time, both to ensure a place and to avoid, as far as possible, the price increase that usually occurs in these times.

Although this is something that happens in most of the country, the coastal places are the most chosen to spend these holiday periods.

If we take into account the distances, on a trip to Mexico, moving around most of the country is not easy, since this will take us long days.
Depending on the places to visit during the trip to Mexico, transportation recommendations may vary, although in our experience, moving between cities such as Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Zacatecas or Guadalajara is easily reachable by bus.
In Chiapas, for distances, it would be feasible to move by car, although we would recommend doing it by public transport if you are only going to visit San Cristóbal de las Casas and surroundings, since there are good combinations and many of the tourist places can be visited with excursions or tours , besides being one of the most comfortable.
While in the whole area of Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán, on a trip to Mexico, we advise you to move by rental car, since there are many places to visit, most of them archaeological parks, to which you travel by public transport It is not easy, because of the reduced hours they usually have in general.
