Christmas lights 2010 in Preciados street in Madrid

One of the great attractions of the Christmas time It is to enjoy Christmas lighting in the big cities.

In the case of Madrid, I will recommend four sites in the city center where you can see better the Christmas lights 2010.

1.- Plaza de Callao and Gran Vía

The central Callao Square It is a strategic place to see Christmas lighting. In addition to the commercial fair that is installed in the center of it, with a striking Christmas tree, you can see the best perspectives of the Christmas lights on the Gran Vía, both in its section towards the Plaza de España, and in the central section.

2.- Puerta del Sol

In the central Sun GateIn addition to seeing the huge Christmas tree installed in the center of the square, the largest one you can find in Madrid, you can also see the Christmas lights of the very commercial Precious Street.

3.- Street and Plaza Mayor

The main Street In these holidays you show the spectacular Christmas lighting that last year was installed in the Paseo de Recoletos. From this street you reach one of the iconic places of the Christmas in Madrid, main square.

The highlight of the Main Square It is the combination of the great atmosphere of the Christmas market, with its merry-go-round, with the lighting that is projected on the facade of the Casa de la Carnicería.

4.- Columbus Square

In the Columbus square, at the corner of Serrano and Goya streets, you have a point where you can see spectacular Christmas lights that stretch both shopping streets of the Salamanca District. And if you go up Goya to Velazquez, in this street you can also see the beautiful Christmas lighting that was installed in 2009 in Alcalá street, between Cibeles and Puerta de Alcalá.

And finally, I indicate that precisely Alcalá street and Cibeles are NOT recommended places to see Christmas lighting this year. Very discreet lights have been installed in the groves, so that they barely stand out from normal street lighting.
